London Theatre Review: The Mousetrap at St. Martin's Theatre Posted on Jan 18, 2019 | By Kay Johal (Updated on Jan 30, 2019) After 66 years and over 27,500 performances, it can simply be said that The Mousetrap has truly cemented its place in legend and on the streets of London. A really old theatre but with a vintage charm. It was a traditional crime play and I loved it. And in due course, the game—as they say—is afoot, with the drama unfolding at an energetic clip as the mystery deepens. As such it is virtually critic-proof and Christie is the most successful female playwright of all time. The current West End cast of The Mousetrap, the world's longest-running stage play, warm up on set before a performance at St Martin's Theatre in London. It is, quite frankly, a theatrical masterpiece. I am therefore extremely sad this this occurred and my partner left in some pain and would like to raise this as a serious issue not just because it affected our experience but for the health and safety of other unsuspecting theatre goers in the future to the Moustrap.
